We recently blogged, in relevant part, about the requirement that employers in New York State must provide annual sexual harassment training to all employees no later than January 1, 2019 and to new hires and transient hires, within thirty days of their state dates.

Since our blog was posted, there have been some changes.

Under the final guidance issued by the state, all New York employees must complete sexual harassment training that meets or exceeds the minimum standards set forth under the NY State Human Rights Law, no later than October 9, 2019, instead of January 1, 2019. New hires must be trained as soon as possible after their start dates, rather than within the first 30 days of their employment. In addition, all full-time, part-time, seasonal, and temporary employees must receive training, even if they are based out of New York State, if they work a portion of their time within New York State.

Stay tuned for further developments.
